On a recent road trip I remarked to my 20 year old daughter and her fiance that this film held some important lessons for some of the self deluded invincible atheletes of today. To my amazement neither had seen the film. I immediately ordered the film when I got home watched it again and forwarded it to them. This story is timeless and still carries a forceful message

The Horse Whisperer

I had the VHS version of this video but the tape became corrupted due to use, so I purchased the DVD version. Both my wife and I liked the story and the pace at which it developed the relationships between the characters. I especially liked the maturity depicted by the children raised on the ranch and Robert Redford's ranch family. The story is about an injured horse and young rider with the efforts to restore both to wholeness. Of course, there is a romantic element in that the mother of the injured child, who is married, and Redford develop a desire for each other.
